I never act on this unwanted interest and am quick to make clear I have a boyfriend when it happens, but when I tell my boyfriend about such incidents he tends to make excuses for why the man approched me, e.g "he was probably trying to get some money from you" or whatever. Thanks everyone for your responses. Please don't judge me in what I am about to say. I don't even know if I want a relationship with this man. At this point I just find him attractive and the flirting is exciting. As for my husband, I have tried absolutely everything to fix things but there are issues with him that he won't fix. I've been 'pushed away' in such a situation, as you seem to describe and, when younger, I let that bother me, but now, rather than feeling hurt or unappreciated, I simply recognize the connection as valid but the push as a sign of incompatibility; of not being in the same emotional and spiritual place to have a healthy relationship.
