For example, my dogs used to bark when someone knocked on our door. When we lived in a house, it wasn't a big deal as no one could hear them when they did it but us. But when we moved into an apartment, I knew that their barking could disturb a neighbors sleep, conversation, or quiet enjoyment of their house. So I trained them to quit.
